First Annual Menifee Restaurant Week

Sunday, January 24 - Saturday, January 30, 2021

In response to the ever growing demand in Menifee for new, eclectic, unique and epicurean delights and diversity of meal experiences, Restaurant Week in Menifee was born. As a budding new City, with an abundance of national tenants, and leases costs of new construction and a generational issue, delectable specialized food choices are clamored for which led to the "New.Better.Best" theme for 2021.

In light of the global pandemic, and the reduction of gatherings, Restaurant Week 2021 features three key parts:

Chinese Take Away Boxes

Introducing New Eateries to Menifee.

A virtual Meet and Greet is being held in partnership with the Small Business Development Center's (SBDC) Restaurant Program, where home-based culinary and artisan eateries (as well as established eateries) can learn tips and advice on growing their business into a brick and mortar storefront in Menifee. In addition, information on the Menifee boomtown demographic and how Menifee's central location has one of the largest sales leakage for restaurants in the area to thrive unlike any other Southwest Riverside County location. The event is a way to build and attract NEW and growing local eaters in Menifee.

Assisting Existing Restaurants

Individuals will also be able to win gift cards to local Menifee restaurants that are participating in this year's restaurant week, by shopping and sharing information on Menifee's Official Facebook page, their favorite Menifee restaurant or eatery and why! Everyday the City of Menifee Facebook page will post a Restaurant Week question, those who comment on the post will be entered in the raffle to win a gift card!

It has been nearly four months since Menifee welcomed its new municipal Police
Department. Now the community can look forward to seeing two new additions to
the Menifee Police Department (MPD) team. Meet Emmy and Dino! Emmy and Dino
are the MPD's first K-9s, thanks to a generous donation for one of the two K-9's and
Measure DD, and will serve with MPD Officers Brooks and Mercado.
The two K-9s have spent the last six weeks in training and have excelled. Both
dogs and both handlers (as the officers are called who train and care for the dogs
24/7) have done exceptionally well in their training and they are scheduled to start
serving the Menifee community before the end of the month. Once they are on duty,
between the two K-9 teams, MPD will have seven-day-a-week K-9 coverage with a
time allotted for weekly training as well.

While the teams will be used on a wide variety of calls, common uses for MPD's
K-9 unit will be conducting building searches, suspect apprehension, contraband
detection and recovery, and youth and community engagement. K-9s will allow the
department to resolve dangerous situations in a more safe and efficient manner for
all parties. So the next time you are around town, keep an eye out for the newest,
four-legged members of the MPD family. They may not be able to stop and say hello
if they are on duty, but rest assured, Menifee is a safer (and cuter) community thanks
to Emmy and Dino.

A burgeoning community like Menifee needs to ensure its public safety
grows with it. That is why the City of Menifee budgeted for an additional
medic truck in Fiscal Year 20/21. The new medic patrol unit will make this the
second piece of medic equipment funded by Measure DD for the Menifee
Fire Department (MFD). The first medic patrol is strategically positioned
at Menifee's Station 7, which is the busiest station in Riverside County. By
investing in medic patrol units, the MFD can more efficiently, promptly, and
safely respond to calls for medical services, which accounted for 83.5% of
Station 7's calls for service last fiscal year.
Ensuring that the fire department has a second medic vehicle is critical
to adequately address a growing call system workload, as a way to be
prepared for the community's existing and incoming equipment needs and
population growth. "The investment made with Measure DD with the medic
patrol units equates to being able to maintain critical emergency response
times, while also addressing the needs of a fast-growing community like
Menifee. Thank you to the residents and visitors of Menifee who patronize
our businesses, as your direct support allows us to continue to maintain and
enhance our emergency response times," said Fire Chief Kirk Barnett.

Showing Menifee's BEST!

Show us your BEST! This category needs no explanation, but *participating Menifee restaurants and eateries have an opportunity to showcase their creative cuisine or mouthwatering "BEST Dish" during restaurant week. Eateries are encouraged to submit a favorite dish to be featured on their City's Restaurant Week Page and social media platforms, including local business information. Restaurants can either submit a photo of their best dish, or the Economic Development team can take a photo once the dish feature is submitted. Submittals for "Best Dish" should be sent to by January 19.
